How to STAY healthy

Health is always a moving target.

The health you experience at this moment is the culmination of life choices from the past.

You create your future self by the choices you make today.

That is empowerment!

Choices, choices, choices

If you eat a french fry, you will become a french fry. As you nourish the body, so you become.

As the food becomes the body, so does that food become the fuel for thought.

As the food you consume becomes the fuel for thought, so directed are your actions- and these actions create your life.

Yes, the food you eat can change your psychological state.

Just think about caffeine, its ‘upper’ effects make the body and mind feel alert, awake and inspired. This can be good when you need it, as everything has the potential to be medicine. In contrast, a ‘downer’ like alcohol, can give you a sense of feeling settled, relaxed, like the edge of life has been taken off.

Although, both are missing the point.


The effects of caffeine wear off, and you are left with a headache, dizziness and increase sleepiness than before- this is the body's way to try to recover from caffeine binding to adenosine receptors that have just pumped adrenaline (epinephrine) into the system causing the fight-or-flight response to your daily reality. And when you wake up the next morning from drinking too much, well, you pay for it. Your tolerance increases, and you consume more and more. The point is, both of these substances are not your natural state. You are using substance to create the experience you seek for yourself, and then it wears off.

When you meet yourself, with out substances to alter you drastically, staying healthy and happy isn't dependent on any 'thing.' Cheers to that!


Life should not be lived recovering from choices, it should be lived vibrantly- where each choice is affirming a happy healthy future.

What are your daily habits? These habits are your 'actions' or 'karmas' that you do daily. Just like any action, there is a result. That result is your life experience, your state, or lack of state, of vibrancy.

Choose consciously.

Ideally, life should not be lived where the body is recovering from dietary choices; a crazy night out that becomes every night.

Understand your body, and then how you can use things in a medicinal way.

Everything can be used medicinally to create your experience of life.

The amazing thing is, this is your life, and by your choices with food, you can create the body-mind experience by which you experience life through. These choices determine and alter your perception of life. The only difference between a personal heaven or a personal hell, is the lens by which it is looked through.

One's trash is another's treasure.


Just as personal preferences vary as many as there are people on this earth, so does the dietary uniqueness.

Ayurveda honors the individuals uniqueness more than any medical system used today and has simple and yet vast number of ways to fill life with healthy habits so you can STAY healthy. With the skill of proper daily routine, seasonal routine, and diet, the moving target of health won’t seem so elusive.
